Introducing the Ruger LC Charger, a Ruger’s large-format pistol version of the previously released LC Carbine. Chambered in 5.7x28mm, combines the best features of its predecessor, the Ruger LC Carbine, with the innovative design elements of the Ruger-5.7 pistol. Boasting a new 10.3″ threaded barrel, the same ambidextrous manual safety, and reversible magazine release as the LC Carbine, the LC Charger is a versatile and powerful option for shooting enthusiasts, hunters, those seeking reliable self-defense and those who want a compact 5.7mm firearm that can be converted into an SBR or perhaps even stowed as a vehicle or home defense weapon.

The Barrel Length We Wanted – Ruger’s LC Charger in 5.7x28mm

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is excited to introduce the Ruger® LC Charger™ chambered in 5.7x28mm. This large-format pistol features a 10.3” threaded barrel, ambidextrous manual safety, and a reversible magazine release. Based on the Ruger LC Carbine™ and utilizing the same magazines and controls as the innovative Ruger-5.7™ pistol, the LC Charger combines the best of both platforms.

The LC Charger is chambered in 5.7x28mm, a low-recoiling cartridge available in an exciting array of options for target shooting, small game and personal defense. The pistol features an M-LOK® aluminum free-float handguard with adjustable hand stop, multiple QD attachment points for slings, and a full-length Picatinny rail for optics.

Like the Ruger-5.7 pistol, the LC Charger utilizes Ruger’s safe, reliable and proven Secure Action™ fire-control mechanism that combines a protected internal hammer with a bladed-safety trigger that has a short, smooth pull, clean break and positive reset. The nitride-coated alloy steel barrel is threaded ½”-28 for the attachment of standard muzzle accessories.

Made in the USA of strong and lightweight materials, the Ruger LC Charger is ideal for the range, home defense, backpacking, or small game.

The Barrel Length We Wanted - Ruger's LC Charger in 5.7x28mm

The new Ruger LC Charger presents itself as a notable contender within the realm of large-format pistols chambered in 5.7x28mm. This is the configuration that I would have originally wanted the Ruger LC Carbine to come in since it so closely mirrors the barrel length of the FN P90. I have a T&E copy of the new LC Charger on the way and I may turn this into a short project to see how much it’d cost to kit one of these out as an SBR just the way I like it. There are both regular and ban state-compliant versions of LC Chargers available starting at an MSRP of $999.99. For more information on the new Ruger LC Charger, you can visit www.ruger.com.
